Proceeds from the Sprout Swap benefit Cloth Diaper Connection, a local nonprofit that lends cloth diapers to low income families in Central Ohio.
A family can spend around $2,000 on about 8,000 disposable diapers for one child, and public assistance programs do not currently cover diapering costs. Cloth diapers can be a good option for many families, but the high start up cost can be a significant barrier. By giving families access to cloth diapers, Cloth Diaper Connection gives families more flexibility in managing their day-to-day expense needs and ultimately gives them more options and control over their finances. Every cloth diaper provided positively impacts the financial situation of families and reduces the negative impact that disposable diapers have on the environment.
